About Andrew Lindsay
Andrew is an extremely experienced corporate lawyer, non-executive director and chair, advising companies, businesses, directors and shareholders on all manner of commercial and corporate issues. He is also regarded as a trusted corporate legal adviser.
Between 2012 and 2018, he headed up the Corporate Department of a leading Yorkshire-based commercial legal practice with offices in Leeds, Sheffield and York. During his tenure, his corporate team grew substantially, both in size and reputation.
The Legal 500 (a leading international directory of law firms) nominated his firm as ‘The Corporate and Commercial Law Firm of the Year for Yorkshire & Humberside.’ stating that: 'Andrew Lindsay’s commitment to his clients is second to none.'
Between 2015 and 2017, Andrew served as the inaugural Chair of the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, a Chamber that covers the cities of Leeds, Bradford and York, as well as the county of North Yorkshire. Prior to that, he negotiated the mergers of both the Leeds and Bradford Chambers with the York & North Yorkshire Chamber, creating one of the largest and most influential Chambers in the UK.
Andrew is a former chair of the M&A Practice Division of Geneva Group International (‘GGI’) a global, top ten association of lawyers, accountants and management consultants, giving him an extensive network of business contacts from across the globe.
Within the public sector, Andrew was chair of the Audit and Risk Management Board of the Central Science Laboratory (‘CSL’), an executive division of the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (‘DEFRA’), and subsequently, of the Food & Environment Regulatory Agency ('FERA').
Despite his relaxed approach, Andrew is known for his absolute dedication to his clients.
He enjoys family life enormously. He is also a keen (but pretty useless) sportsman, regularly dropping catches and not scoring runs for his local cricket team, and claiming to be able to bowl line and length (but not at the same time). On the golf course, he is an eternal optimist, always believing his next round will be his best one. And, when time permits, he occasionally ventures up to the North of Scotland, attempting (and not always succeeding) to catch trout.
Andrew is a life-long supporter of Middlesbrough Football Club, a team he has supported through thin and thinner.
